My Ground does not Break - an ode to women’s faith and resilience during enforced exile and imprisonment. The piece approaches the audience with a question - how does one transform unbearable pain into power that can’t be defeated by any means? 

On stage - a woman and 6 objects. These objects, slightly unreal, serve not as a sentiment but as an anchor to remember the warmth of a hand and to whisper “I was touched once”. Speaking with each object, the woman sings. Groovy, embodied, full of pain, love, and longing. Her voice cracks only to let her rise with a smile. Opening her inner life to us she dances. Her legs break. She surrenders. And dances wilder and wilder, her presence growing clearer and clearer.
